Gender Bias in Imprisonment Decisions of Intentional Spousal Homicide in China

Spousal homicide has become one of China's most common forms femicide. Therefore, the investigation systematic gender bias and in-group in imprisonment decisions is conducted this study to explore fairness impartiality Chinese judicial system. Fifty random intentional spousal cases China are analysed using context analysis method. The found a large similarity between decision made by female male judges; however, plaintiffs have larger chance receiving sentences life death penalty from judges either gender. Moreover, excluding penalty, identical as judge more likely receive slightly shorter sentences, suggesting slight China.
